About VIHve Libre

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, education, and support of people living with HIV, actively working to eliminate stigma, improve access to treatment, and ensure a dignified and discrimination-free life for all affected individuals. Our permanent prevention program includes free nationwide (and worldwide) access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP).

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to people living with HIV or at risk of acquiring it, offering a safe and prejudice-free space where they can access resources, education, and quality healthcare. We strive to ensure that all people, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or social status, receive the necessary support to live with dignity and without fear.

Our Vision

We envision a world where HIV is no longer synonymous with fear, exclusion, or discrimination. We work to build a society where access to healthcare, education, and emotional support are guaranteed rights for all people living with HIV, fostering more informed, supportive, and inclusive communities.

Our History

VIHve Libre was founded in 2019 as a support group led by Alain Pinzón, an activist and person living with HIV. The initiative arose from the need to create a safe space where people with the diagnosis could feel accompanied and understood. What began as a small support network, with only a few people in its first meetings, quickly grew into a nationwide movement.

Since its foundation, VIHve Libre has worked tirelessly to highlight the issues faced by people with HIV in Mexico. We have become a key organization in the fight against shortages of antiretroviral medications, access to dignified healthcare services, and the eradication of prejudice and discrimination. Our work includes testing services, counseling, treatment access support, and community education, impacting thousands of lives.
